I work almost exclusively in black and white. Why this ‘self-restriction’ when the world is so colourful? It is due to my great interest in wanting to make the structures behind ‘things’ and their colourfulness visible. Black and white makes structures clear. Where do we come from? Where are we going? What are we doing? Structures that have been created by people and sometimes have a lasting effect, sometimes only a fleeting one. Looking at structures creates clarity and conveys calm and intensity at the same time.
